She was born in Santa Monica, California on the 26th of November 1986. She is the child of Vincenzo Barba the father of her and Valerie Barba. The family moved to Point Pleasant New Jersey when she was 6 years old. For her schooling, she completed her studies at Red Bank Catholic High School in New Jersey. She continued her education at Catholic University where she earned a bachelor of architecture. The violin was first played at age 4 and she was known by the name Violin Girl. Her name was often used to refer to her first name because of her performance. The children of her neighborhood were taught to play violin by her. She performed Free beginning in 1976 during her audition for American Idol's sixth season at the age of 19. The show eliminated her at the 16th spot. She's sung a number of songs such as 2009's "The Christmas song The Christmas Song' as well as The 2010's Out for Blood. The singer has also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as well as other TV shows.
